would it take 2x the amount of air or does it divide that norm by two through both bells? pretty awesome tho, i'm a tenor trombonist!

No, It plays with the same amount of air, and plays exactly like a regular single tenor bone. The sound and air is divided between the bells and since in the end, the instrument is the same length, it wont use more air.
