~ Happy (Pre) Birthday, Johnny ~ : "I Got Love", a very jazzy, upbeat song, to wish you a happy, spirited and healthy year ~ with full receipt back to you of what you give to so many others: JOY!

Listen to Johnny slip smoothly into this song. If you're unfamiliar with it, as I was at first, you're in for a surprise following the soft, subtle intro. A dynamic song of ecstatic love, lyrics and composition by Peter Udell and Gary Geld for the 1970 Broadway, Tony Award winning show, Purlie. This performance is from the 1972 "Johnny Mathis in Person (Recorded Live at Las Vegas)" LP. While not available in CD, this is worth owning if you have a turntable or are able to convert to CD. Every song is a treasure. And as one online reviewer wrote - "Johnny, the band and the audience "clicked" that evening". The energy is terrific (this number is the purest example - listen to the applause and "Bravos!" at the close), the selections outstanding, and as I've stated elsewhere, in addition to this great number, Johnny's delivery of the TEN song medley (fabulous orchestration!) is the best I've ever heard- anywhere- by anyone.
