@MegaJimrad Well then, you can sit back and smile KNOWING, that you've got much better taste in music than any of your mates!

i was 16 and heard this for the first time...wayyyyy back and was blown away, in an era when my mates were listening to pure crap pop,and still love it..

Just something about those dirty blues. I could listen to this song over and over!!

@keaton1895 True, he should be remembered just as much as the other greats who died at a young age.

I think I know just what you mean driftingcowboy! Not only was Duane the consummate musician, but he had such an intense life force, and love of life - I keep returning to the comet. He streaked through our sky burning intensely and so brightly that it's a downright shame some of us missed him. OTOH - what he did came from his soul, and lives!

Thanks for your kind comment RasMajnouni You're not alone in having felt that 'artist' is often a disingenuous term. Also like you - I've found that the true and rare greats like Duane Allman often don't live long enough to know what a spell they've cast over us in their short lives, but 'the road goes on forever' as long as we keep the flame alive!

I know a lot about Dwayne, including the Rolling Stones guitarist ranking. The main reason behind my post was that it is amazing it not only took so long, but how lucky I was to find it. I randomly stumbled upon a comment under the song "Why does love got to be so sad". Sure glad I did.
@jmar1371 I was into Duane and Boz at the time this music was released. I want to a concert in a park in Houstonm, TX in 1970 to see Grand Funk and Quicksliver. The Allmans played first I had never heard them before, but after they played. The crowd was so blown away that by the time headline Grand Funk plaed no one was even left at the concert.
I love to imagine what Boz would have been like if he had stayed with Steve Miller just alittle longer WoW what talent!

@l2string
And in the end he may have been more important than all of them. People from our generation often say Rock is dead now, but it simply moved to Nashville. Modern country music wouldn't exist w/o Duane & Dicky - just listen.
