Late stage Alzheimer's is scary, but it can help to have information about what to expect.

  • I lost my dad to Alzheimer's last year (The video response is mine, too) and there is no more helpless feeling than watching someone you love slip away before your eyes and there's not anything anyone can do about it.

I pray a cure wil be found soon so no more families will be robbed.

  • my great grandmother is in the final stages of alzheimers :/

  • I am a caregiver an find it rewarding an wrote a song whereI work put it in you tube it (Rene's Song I'll Carry You) its what we do as caregivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Seems to me like my mom is just a ghost now from what she were. And at evenings its sometimes like some vile entity takes over and plays with us through her body. I am so stunned that over so many years of evolution, that it hasnt evolved some system to prevent the onset of this disease.

  • It is not correct to say that the person has "no means of communication". Although the person may have increasing difficulty using words or language, they are still communicating in other ways. In particular a person's body language or facial expressions will give strong clues as to how they are feeling - for example if they are uncomfortable or in pain. It is also important to remember that the person may still hear and understand what we say to them, even if they do not respond verbally.

  • The amount of vile people on here with their sickening comments about a horrible disease is extremely disturbing .Let us assume that if some fascist dictator like Hitler took control of their respective country ,they would be OK with that ?? Obviously there is mental health issues to be addressed here ,bile &hatred spewed out of pointless individuals with little to justify their empty life's .I weep for them them ...yes i really do.

  • @LordPipweed You're not ugly though are you pipsqueak? just suffer from an inflated ego and love upsetting people because nobody really likes you do they and your to dumb to figure it ? incidentally you spelled" plague" incorrectly, and consequently your opinion is invalid .Go back to school and try to grow up because as one comment illustrated :"life has a habit of biting you back ".

  • Great video ignore that troll he or she is immature, they do not have the experiences that grow one up. And I believe it isnt the youth who are our future, but the elderly, because one must look to our past in order to have a future.

I finished my clinicals for CNA, and working the alzheimers unit was sad. Never had I seen such comfusion in someone's eyes....

  • @LordPipweed Every day you live, you are growing older. If you don't die young, you will be old one day...."plaguing this world". What you say will come back to bite you. I pray you live long enough to mature and realize that alot of those OLD people made sacrifices so that you have the freedom to post your stupid remark on Youtube.

  • @LordPipweed Someday you will hope you will get to get old. The alternative is dying young. The saddest part of your statement is that someday your parents might have to rely on you to help them enjoy old age and your not going to let that happen. I hope you get in return what you give out. Especially if you get old.
