Will Pope Benedict have any impact on the Church's abysmal state? We are hoping his leadership might change things for the better- at least within the Church. Outside the Church-that is a lost cause.The sexual revolution of the 60s destroyed us. We sometimes forget that beyond promiscuity & abortion, families too broke down.Kids have rarely had a mother at home,Full Time,in the last 40 years.This too is a main cause of societal disintegration. Mary's example of dedication to a child is mocked.

That's what happens when Catholic educational systems excel with "Achievements" and fails in "Spirituality & Morals".

There is no "nice way" or "politically correct" way to say we have failed!

Catholic Schools in the Holy Land (and I see this worldwide) have forgotten that their FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT mission is to nurture Christian teachings and facilitate the growth of faith in our little ones.

The return of the Latin Mass and the many fruits, not least of which are the number of vocations that are springing forth from Latin Mass communities, give me profound hope for the future, in turning this ship around. But I have no illusions to dire straits and the real clear and present danger we find ourselves in, as Michael so aptly describes. In one sense, I wouldn't have it any other way, and thank God for the real possibility of martyrdom. Til then, this Catholic soldier is on the march!
