Hardy? Well. There's certainly some lovely poetic constructions there, if you can stomach his brooding fatalism. I've never been tempted to present Hardy to an unsuspecting audience, myself.

I see what you mean by contrived, I think, but I'm not worried by the prospect of you "selling out." A man's got to eat. :-)
