I like how Gene was supposed to be this carnivorous, ultra-evil beast, but KISS's music was just mid-tempo, derivative sleaze-rock.

I remember being about 11 or 12 and looking at my dad's KISS albums and thinking that these guys must be like Black Sabbath x10, putting the record on, and being SO disappointed at the Slade-on-a-handover sound that came out.
