Still the best...

I also remember the video from the late 70's that CBS aired, and like a lot of others, it stuck with me for all these years. I am a die hard Cowboys fan, but Walter was the BEST. R.I.P. Walter. Thanks for posting this.

There will never be another Walter Payton, not as a man, not as father, not as a running back, not a football player and not as a human. Walter was simply the best. Thank you amcincali for putting together such a great tribute.

Walter was so great that only him deserve this song from Carly SImon; if a modern Fottball player want attention, they will put on the back some hardcore black metal song to impress, Walter is bigger than that

To the author of the book that was jus released about walter: you are a coward!

Great job on this video. I remember the original too and came on this when I searched for it. Many of you will remember the hand springs Sweetness used to do in getting up after a hard tackle in his first few seasons to let the defenders know the hit had no effect. I have to admit, I get a little emotional watching his highlights.

I cry a tear every time #34 is mentioned.
Sweetness will always be the BEST! I'm a PACKER fan and will always consider Walter Payton to be THE BEST OF THE BEST! RIP - WALTER Thank you for the memories!!

@Craigster45 I'm actually flattered that you believe this video is the same one as the original CBS version made back in the late 70's with this song. I put together highlight clips of Walter Payton and edited it to this song because I remembered the video as a kid back in the late 70's that CBS had made. I believe they made it after he broke the single game rushing record (back then) when he rushed for 275 yards against the Vikings.

After watching this. I can tell you also watched and remembered the original Walter Payton highlight video with this song during a football broadcast in the late 70's.
Great edit job and I'm glad you used the original song.

@LosAngelesRAM Thank you very much! I remembered that very same 70's highlight video when I was a kid and it always stuck with me. I have searched and searched for that highlight clip and could never find it so I decided to try and "remake" it so to speak . I actually posted the video earlier but You Tube removed the song claiming copyright infringement, however, I appealed their decision and explained to them my legitimate reasons for posting the video with that song and thankfully they agreed

Thanks moorekm1...and yeah, I've never heard a negative remark from anyone when it came to Walter Payton, he was my childhood hero and still is today. I think God must of needed the best running back he could get on his fantasy football team, and drafted him up. There will never be another #34.
