www.mylocalelectrician.co.uk. As an electrician in the UK I have been, over the past year, blogging about all the bad electrical problems that I find on a day to day basis. I thought I would collate some of the pictures I have taken of the bad electrics that I find in peoples homes and create a video in the hope that more people will use a qualified electrician, Not a cowboy! Making our homes safer places to live. Please visit my online electricians magazine at: www.mylocalelectrician.co.uk for more info and electricians blogs. I felt that Thin Lizzys Cowboy song would work quite well!

  • Believe it or not some of the stuff on here is ok although it may not look very nice.

  • @freemind4ever I'm not a guy off the street i'm an electrical engineer and have been for 35 years. I stand by my comments that although the majority of this work is indeed sub standard and dangerous there are a couple of things on this that look appaling but are not unsafe.

  • Most of the cowboys is created by the principals. They are so greedy and prefer to hire a cowboy electrician for less money. Its Sad But True.

People do not understand it to be electrician must be adequately trained and lose a lot of money for the training. So Fuck Off greedy contractors go find cheap cowboys.

  • Cool song

  • In Australia we legally aren't even allowed to wire up power points or attempt repairs to any mains wiring in a building. It must all be done by a licensed electrician, you can't even do your own wiring and have it checked by one, it simply must be done by a qualified sparky.

  • @bigjimintheuk. Have a word. Not that bad or not. Really? You'd be quite happy with that work done in your house as an engineer for 35 years? I don't think so. I didn't see anything there that was acceptable. About time people started to realise how dangerous electricity really is. Comments like that really don't help.

  • looks a british vid, people recognise corgi for gas "oooh make sure he is corgi registered doris" people dont recognise NICEIC or Part P as much and it wont be regulated untill places like B&Q stop selling electrical kit, even consumer units with instructions!! it beggars belief

  • Lets stop cowboys ratedhammer

  • 0:31 seriously? who thought that was a good idea, earth sleeving - check, no copper or conducting material showing - check................... YE HA!

  • I think this video is a lesson for all of us.we need to be very careful about our electrical problems & ask for a specialist to fix our electrical issue rather then trying to fixing it without having any knowledge or skill in this area.

  • at 1 04 i found stuff from 30 yrs ago between a bath and toilet under the floorboards

  • is that the 16 square from the cut-out at 1:13 haha
