I dream of a world where feminists do not try to become men, while at the same time demeaning everything male.
I wish there was a movement, removed from gender, that fought for equel rights for ALL, not just for women. As it is today feminists are just trying to reverse the roles of centuries past. Power corrupts all it would seem.
You're both hung up on petty sexual differences rather than focusing on the big picture, who gives a shit what sex the inventor of *important thing here* was? The brain is more important than the genitals folks. (Where did you learn about women being involved in war in Viking society btw? I knew they were involved in Sarmatian armies but never read anything about women in Viking warfare)
She helped her husband, not the other way around. You made a bandied assertion that you claimed was fact, that the contributions of these women would have been lost forever without them. How's that for lack of emperical evidence.
I never said they would be "forever lost" but without any of the inventions or prominent people who have influenced history (male and female) we would be a very different culture, its common sense. Human beings generally reach the same conclusions over and over again eventually, so eventually we probably would have all those inventions because men have proved capable of scientific discovery, but the same would be true of men's discovery, as women have proved themselves capable of the same.
Not to mention, history would be very different. Just because our culture was sexist in the past, does not mean all were. Celtic culture for example was matriarchal and lead by women, viking culture saw women as equals and the went into battle... all the matriarchal cultures in history, had they been patriarchal, would have changed the present, and vice versa.
Anywho, I am getting kind of sick of coming back to this video when Ive already refuted your "point" and now we are just talking semantics... arguing with sexists does not really interest me, which is why I hardly ever do it, its boring and their lack of common sense irritating... if I have to argue, I prefer to argue about things I care more about like with gun control morons, intelligent religious people (when I can find any online), Democrats/Republicans etc. So I'll leave you to it.
Not at all. As Camille Paglia so aptly stated, if the world were left up to women we'd all be living in grass huts. There's no juggernaut of female savvy, rather female savvy is a rare, random and dyspeptic imitation of the male. It fires occasionally and strikes the target even less. The so-called matriarchal socities you mentioned really weren't, especially the Viking, women rarely went in battle, when they did, it was often to represent their father who had no sons. No matriarchy.
Yeah... like I said, you're grasping at straws. You arent using anything other than opinion, because you have no empirical evidence to offer (and yes, do some research, its well known that Celtic culture was matriarchal, I never said Viking culture was I said they were equals)
The only facts you've put up was a boring list of female nobel prize laureates, doesn't say anything about the general abilities of the female, manute bull can dunk a basketball on top of the goal post (that's almost 20 feet) but there only ten equivalent manute bulls in the world, it says nothing about the 3 billion other men, so it is an anomaly and disqualifies no satement to the contrary. That is my point and your emotional, silly responses prove me right.
