oh ok thanks. You meant by this being in "auto" mode.
I thought the camera was auto focusing in video mode. yeah, I shoot in manual on my 5D.

Hi bgplotsdotcom or whoever read this.. I look at the Nocturne of Vincent Laforet. So I bought the 1D Mark 4. I ttest shoot it on my street. it almost has the same lighting condition like the LA area where Vincent shot his video. All I got is yellow video and HEAVY NOISE. even I set my ISO at 1000. When I go up to 3200, the noise is just a mess. I use EF 16-35 f2.8L. Please help me. How can I get just a clean video. Thanks for your concern.

@taelinng You are most likely shooting in much lower light than Vincent :)

DOF= Depth of Field
AUTO= Auto settings

Thanks for getting back.
Yeah, I know what they mean but what do you mean by dof being auto?? I noticed the change in focusing area but is it changing the aperture? how does it do that automatically considering that the brightness is not really changing?

well, when the camera is seto to AUTO it first compensate with the ISO and then with the aperture is needed. Therefore if you want to achieve PRO footage, the best way is to use MANUAL settings for the aperature, ISO and framerate (I also use follow focus and manual focus the subject)
