also since I got a Facebook account (free) I stopped feeling the need to buy the Enquirer. I don't remember how much that is but I know it's at least more than free.

p.s. just share when you feel like it. It's ok to think that a message in a bottle has a point, sometimes. Even if it usually lasts a few minutes at best.

I support imagination...the social media thing is giving people an opportunity to express themselves in a different light. I think that the world is depressing and I'M ok with using the online world for a little montage. The result is only a reflection of people's emotional needs, and I tend to just ignore what I find uninteresting.

Tumblr culture??? I wouldn't give it that much credence.

Amen, sister.

Great video btw..you make me wanna be a better fake human being!

Joe, Who we are is not defined entirely by music, movies, brand names etc. But I do believe they add to our character. You make a valid point though that people feel the need to tell everyone irrelevant details. Maybe this is part of trying to "fit in" or their own insecurities. If people smoke weed that's great, but it's unnecessary to tell the world. Just like Gay Parades. Why do they feel the need to tell everyone they are gay? How ridiculous would it be if straight people did that?

Facebook gives me the flying shits! I made a fake account once to fuck with my cousin's head, and within 2 days I wanted to shoot myself in the face. I don't know how anyone over the age of 18 can tolerate it, or why they would even care. Also, I found my artwork on someone's tumblr the other day and was genuinely dumbfounded as to why tumblr even exists. I... don't get it. I feel old.
ultimately what you're saying is that we need to stop shedding, right?

@wwwwwalter This was, indeed, the most important point of all!

I hardly ever comment on videos, but this was one of the most honest & refreshing videos I have seen on YT in years. I am guilty of things you said, especially on FB. I read status updates and want to comment with something sarcastic when someone is bragging. But I am guilty of the same thing and would be a hypocrite. It seems like there are many that share your opinion, it makes me wonder if social media sites are a fad or an era that will eventually fall or die, like Rome or Disco..LOL!!!

@rustang6869 Thanks for the comment! I genuinely feel like there's going to be a great social media rebellion eventually. I can already see people in my generation pulling away from it, disconnecting out of disgust. I don't know if it'll be the death of social media, per se ... but, I could see a mass movement to unplug in the near future. I toe the line between connectivity and focusing on actual, interactive life.

As someone who used to smoke a good amount of weed, i still dont get why people need to tell people they smoke weed, etc.

@chicago85bearz I don't smoke weed, but I also don't care if anyone does. What I have a problem with is people reminding me every 9 minutes that they like to smoke weed and throwing it out there as if it's an interesting trait. If I posted things all the time about what kind of whiskey I like to drink, people would think I was a douche. And rightfully so!
