I'm programming a run'n'gun game on the Super Nintendo and boy are Capcom's programmers stupid. My game has wayyy more sprites on screen and it doesn't have slowdown.

Please show us what you're working on, since in into gamedev myself. However, it's not fair comparing unofficial programming tools in 2009 with the one official available back in 1992. Looking forward to hear more from you. =)

Oh and let's not forget the slowdown! Arggh... sorry but I couldn't stand this one. hats off to anyone who likes it and can get very far without cheating.

Near-impossible difficulty (not even "fun" hard), downgraded gameplay ("super" and yet you can't fire up or down like you could in the arcade/genesis Ghouls 'n' Ghosts)... argh. Sure the graphics are pretty (for console 16 bit), but that's about it. Play the arcade original instead, unless you're a gaming god with infinite patience

The golden suit only appears after you get the green suit, and the blue sheild appears only after the golden suit.
