A lot of pro wrestling fans have switched to UFC in the past few years. Not just because it's real, but also because of the way the major pro wrestling companies in the US are run nowadays. Maybe that's not consciously competing, but WWE is still losing fans to UFC. Ok, not 13 year old Cena fans. The WWE will always have them...

Good move there Dana. As silly as it sounds, I've met several people who thought MMA was fake fighting. If pro Wrestling and MMA combine, casual fans may think it's the same thing. UFC could potentially lose alot of it's fanbase who stopped watching Wrestling to watch "real" fights, if it's authenticity becomes questioned. Although I suppose Japan has combined the 2 successfully before.
