the pressure on your knees will depend on how low ur stances are. if someone is having a bad knee than don't go low on the stances. the practitioner has to choose his or her own comfort level.
i am having knee problem myself and m practicing taichi since to strengthen my thigh muscles for knee protection.you go low on the stances as you progress.
trhy,you can just start copying what Gao min is doing.She is one of the best.you do as per your capability and slowly progress.She didnt become a champion just like that.
