@TheWitchOvAgnesi I'm sure that's so true! I've been at "atom" games ages (8and9yr olds) and the police were called because 2 "moms" got physical with each other!!! Can you say.....psychotic??!! haha! It's one thing to be "passionate" about a game, it's totally, another, to be CRAZY!! Sometimes, so-called normal people act stupid, eh? (I don't think those women were normal, though)

@ralphyization I guess we can't limit ourselves to hockey though. I've heard horror stories from people in other sports (especially baseball). At least in the rink it's a lot harder to hear the crowd. Not so with a baseball diamond less than 50 feet from the bleachers.
It's easy to get wrapped up in a game. I mean, it's like that with any team you want to win, irrespective of who's playing on the team. But the problem is what you mention, with the negativity. That has to be dropped.

@TheWitchOvAgnesi The comment about hockey parents?... True. All through the years, I've bit my tongue, but heard FAR too many parents, that YIP YAP negativity from the stands! The comment about the parents caring more about the win/loss thing? SO TRUE! I've found myself sometimes, having to remind myself, that I might "care" a little too much! ha ha! I remember after one particularly "physical" game, my son played, and in the parking lot, he was joking with an opponent. He was 15.

@ralphyization I'm American, and hate the Canadian turds who act superior as much as you seem to hate the Americans who put down the Canadians, so we're even there.
Hockey parents for the most part are boobs. Many of them here have never even played the sport and I'd imagine most of the Canadian ones failed at it as well. They base their own success on what their children achieve (or fail to). They hate losing more than the kids who are actually playing.
Make sure your daughter wears pink!
-
@TheWitchOvAgnesi Well, it's hard to know someone's tone, and if you're Canadian, and trash our hockey players, well, we DO get our backs up! No, I don't agree that they're lesbians, but I actually thought you meant that. My daughter plays hockey with the boys, but she's definitely a "girly-girl" off the ice. Boys ask for her "facebook " page at the face off. She played centre. Dads yelled "take out the girl", because she was the best "hitter" and scorer on the team. hit a nerve.
-
@ralphyization So then you agree that they're lesbians...?
Aw c'mon, just having a bit of fun with you. Lighten up! I admire any woman who plays hockey, really I do. The more the better.
-
@TheWitchOvAgnesi I'm just speaking as a straight woman, who plays hockey in Canada. Who cares if they are lesbians OR not?? They're the best hockey team in the world! THAT'S what counts! But, FYI. in Canada, every hockey game is celebrated with BEER afterwards! That was fancy Molson Canadian beer in a "champagne-shaped" bottle. The cigars, well, I can't speak to that. Usually, that's after someone's had a baby.
-
@ralphyization Because many female athletes I've met who smoke cigars and drink champagne are indeed lesbians.
-
@TheWitchOvAgnesi Jealousy will get you no-where. Why do people say those things about female athletes??? I do NOT get that. I'm straight, but I do play hockey with staights and "non-straights", Who cares? As far as I'm concerned, if a group of women from CANADA brought home the GOLD medal, I don't give a rat
s ass their persuasion.!!
wish i coulda been there so i coulda jumped on the ice and joined in on the party.....i think it's pretty hilarious that they did that, and fuck anyone that has a problem with it

LOL... Stop fighting over this... most Americans and Canadians thought it was funny that they did this and obviously think that they deserved to party...
