CENSUS 2011: VOLUNTARY Q's?

Investigation of the Statistics Act, R.S.C. 1985, c S-19 leads me to believe that by law the only information that you are required to complete is number of people living in a residence, which is needed to count the POPULATION. Is it possible that all other questions are VOLUNTARY but they neglect to mention this on the form?!

You are not referencing the correct act. On the census, it states that it "is collected under the authority of the Statistics Act, R.S.C. 1985, c S-19". Please refer to that act and I believe you will see that it is in fact mandatory according to that act.

I encourage you to please tell me where in the act it says all the information in the census is madatory, because the only thing that I can see is mandatory in the population census is the number of people living in each residence. (no names, no other information is mandatory) Cheers!
