UK public information film advising children that building sites aren't safe play areas.

Special thanks to Peter Raven for the source footage.

  • Now, I do have the full film on dvd (recorded from VHS). I managed to find a library that still had a copy of it and asked them to transfer it to dvd, which they did for free! I will have a look for it. Not sure how easy it is to upload from dvd to youtube though.

  • @yoddytoddy You need DVD ripping software for one thing, yoddytoddy, and if you can find a good program of that sort online to do this, you can then use a video editing program (something as simple as Windows Movie Maker will do) to create a file or files, depending on how long the video is. If you're successful, I look forward to seeing the full film.

  • Is this taken from the full-length "Building Sites Bite" PIF, Mr T? Or is it a stand-alone clip?

  • @neondiscogod I've never seen the full length film, neondiscogod, but like most PIF's of the 1970's and 1980's, I'd imagine this is derived from it.

  • When will the full film be released? It's teasing me!

  • @Natester555 Unfortunately, Natester555, I don't have the full film, but hopefully somebody has and will think about uploading it sooner or later.

  • LOL this is awful of me, but I was more concerned about the dog.

  • It's like Apaches for the weak stomached

  • @mistofoles Yeah! It's definitely the mid-80's.

  • @Jarren202 I agree, look at the kids' clothes as well, I'd say more 80s than 70s

  • Reminds me of back when I was a child and my brother and I use to play in these huge hills of sand and rocks in the field behind our house. Thinking back I can't believe how stupid we were.

  • For anyone asking: this isn't from the actual film BUILDING SITES BITE. it's almost like an homage to it, since there was a scene w/ a falling brick stack, and dirt cave-in.

  • Just to let you know, this can't be from the 70's as there is an Austin Montego (the white car) at the very end of the clip.

I'd age this video at around 1986 or so.

  • @Natester555 i don't know if it's been uploaded to youtube but i just aqcuired the film and i'll be uploading it in a day or so.

  • slightly horrifying

  • Or teach kids to stay in their own yard. Heaven forbid we tell our own kids what to do. Besides kids dont play outside anymore. They are playing video games.
