I remember hearing this song about 2 years ago. This was the song that sold me on Ben Folds, ever since then I have been a die hard fan. The whole WASO DVD is great.

He probably told them he might do it before hand, but I don't think they knew exactly what.
Usually at a Ben Folds concert when something is scripted, it's pretty obvious.
