The Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory is a tiny shop, no more than 20 feet wide, in an alley in San Francisco's Chinatown. It's easy to walk past if you aren't looking for it, but seeing the cookies rotating out of the machine is well worth a visit. And fresh fortune cookies are light and almost flaky, completely different than what is served at the end of a Chinese meal.
