hi, I wanto to know if this pianos load into the ram or play directly from the Hard drive. Because I see Synthogy recommends a 7200 rpm hard drive. can you clarify this ? how big are these pianos when loaded for playing.

After all the hype, I'm surprisingly underwhelmed by the sound of this piano. Maybe it's just the recording/music/performance.

@bostonmoores I was going to wonder why having ASIA4all would make a difference.
Thanks a lot mate.

Hey, I'm wondering what you would have to do in order to minimize the delay between the key being pressed to the sound being outputted.

@Un1234l You need to use a low level asio driver to minimize latency. If you are using a generic sound card that doesn't ship with asio drivers, usually you can get away with a driver set called asio4all.
Thanks

@bostonmoores Thanks for the reply.
I'm wondering how the latency is for you? Noticeable? What sound card are you using? and why a low-level ASIO driver?
Un1234l 11 months ago
For this I actually used my on-board sound card, which I believe is just a sigmatel audio chip. I used the asio4all driver. Using the on board sound card and asio4all I had about 10ms of latency - which to my ears isn't really noticeable. You could probably achieve less latency with a good card and its own dedicated asio drivers. Asio drivers bypass the windows sound system so you can have direct access to your sound card. Thanks

I recommend highly. It actually took me some time to get used to the Italian Grand - but once I got used to it, I have a hard time going back to the Ivory Steinway.
