  • back when the Orioles weren't the laughing stock of MLB.

30 years next year... earl weaver is going to die before he sees another Oriole in the playoffs.

  • @NYerintransit Jim Palmer is the only pitcher in MLB history to win a World Series game in three different decades. Such a great pitcher.

  • "The series I couldn't lose" Grew up near Philly but spent summers on the Eastern Shore, so I had ties to both

  • In This Clip, From 0:00 To 1:01, It Was ABC Sports' 1983 World Series - Game 1: Philadelphia Phillies Vs. Baltimore Orioles Video Open From Tuesday Night, October 11, 1993.

  • @NYerintransit And then he announced for ever

  • Jim Palmer played in the 1966 World Series and this one. That's long-spanning glory.

  • Is the entire series available on DVD? Just viewed the seven game '79 series against the Pirates recently and the turf at old Memorial Stadium appears to be in much better shape for this one. The Orioles still had many of the same players from the '79 squad on their roster in '83. Will always remember game 5 back in Philly when Murray's second home run of the game went deep into the upper deck to cap the series. And McGregor finished it.

  • @andyr1313 Give that fan a contract!

  • That had to really eat away at Earl Weaver sitting in the booth seeing the Orioles win the World Series after he retired....He returned in '85 and retired for good after 1986.

  • The Phillies look like a bad line-up of '70's porn stars with thsoe mouthstaches.
