  • I hate poems...

  • @oiramormedeiros The way most people "compose" and read them these days, I don't blame you. Poetry tends to be better if they're composed before the 1920's. In general, you need some imagination and an attention span longer then a gnat to enjoy them if they're done properly.

  • i loved this video! Thanks Drew

  • @pulpedpoetry Thank you very much.

  • Good viseo- Can I have some advice here, I write poetry nearly every day, practising and practising but I'm not sure how to set it out, the constrution of it e.g.

Can somebody help me in how

    to construct poetry, how and

    when do you know to

    start a new line?

  • @Helios601 I have written very little poetry myself, focusing more on performing what others have composed. You have multiple formats in which to write, so knock yourself out. I'd advise you to ignore most poetry forms after WW1 which become increasingly existential and worthless. The main thing, does your poem have a central idea, and does it tell a story? Can you make your idea clear in the mind of another person?

  • @Helios601 formatted and punctuated since its already there, leave it to the editor? or maybe something more subtle, feel the breeze of inspiration, come alive, and i hope that your path, leads to where dreams, alone may wander...

  • why do ppl only write rhyming poetry? what has happened to epic poetry?, that of which hath stood the days long and burning, treading along the road of time, as foot strikes ground, dust be kicked up, for if not dust then what, shall the gods take notice of, a man, lonely wandering the earth, along a road that never ends, constructed by thy hand thyself, where else do we turn, when time runs short, than to what shall be embraced, by the stone itself, in cold affection... (draft 1) 10 sec :D

  • @Amiduffer Yeah, im a foreign kid, so im not good at understanding or writing poems at all.

  • @Amiduffer NO, THANK YOU! KEEP TEACHING THE WORLD AMAZING THINGS!

  • That's it isnt it, not alienating the reader. I have many original ideas down. I just want to get it formatted/puncuated properly as I was considering sending for possible punblication, which has never bothered me tbh but recently, I now have quite alot and not one has seen the light of day, feels a waste also.
