Regular Season Round 6: Zhejiang C. - Bayi Fubang 113-91 (24-22, 23-27, 38-26, 28-16)

Very expected game when 9th ranked Bayi Fubang (2-2) was smashed by second ranked Zhejiang Cyclones (4-1) in Hangzhou 113-91 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 66-42 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Zhejiang Cyclones forced 23 Bayi Fubang turnovers and outrebounded them 54-35 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Zhejiang Cyclones shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Bayi Fubang was plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard J.R. Smith (198-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 52 points (!!!), 22 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Forward Fei Cao (194-91) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. International center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and international forward Lei Wang (203-86) added 14 points in the effort for Bayi Fubang. Four Zhejiang Cyclones and five Bayi Fubang players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Cyclones have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-1 record having just three points less than leader Beijing Ducks. Loser Bayi Fubang dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. Zhejiang Cyclones will have a break next round. Bayi Fubang will play at home against Jiangsu Dragons (#15) in Nanjing.
