I first heard The Stranglers around 1979 when a high school chum told me to come and hear his No More Heroes album. What a breath of fresh air musically it was, an alternative to all the shit on the radio.

I got into The Stranglers quite by accident in 1978 i was released from a care home in Manchester into the care of my Aunty .She had asked me what i would like as a sort of coming home present and i told her Heroes album by David Bowie she got No more Heroes album by mistake. But couldn't take it back because she had nicked it .I must come from a family of villains
