Mantra of Compassion - Om MANI PEDME HUN
Tibetan Buddhists believe that saying the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion. Viewing the written form of the mantra is said to have the same effect -- it is often carved into stones and placed where people can see them.
Spinning the written form of the mantra around in a Mani wheel (or prayer wheel) is also believed to give the same benefit as saying the mantra, and Mani wheels, small hand wheels and large wheels with millions of copies of the mantra inside, are found everywhere in the lands influenced by Tibetan Buddhism.

The Prayer Wheel: Spiritual Technology from Tibet

It is said that all the teachings of the Buddha are contained in this mantra: Om Mani Padme Hum can not really be translated into a simple phrase or sentence.

It is appropriate, though, to say a little about the mantra, so that people who want to use it in their meditation practice will have some sense of what they are doing, and people who are just curious will understand a little better what the mantra is and why it is so important to Tibetan Buddhists.

  • They were deffinitely saying "nomnomnom"

  • @OneDharmaYouMovement FORTUNATELY Buddha Dharma is NOT about eugenics, who came first, which is the best etc, etc. Its about learning WHO you are in this human form while you still have the chance to do so, as death is a surety and life is not a surety. Human kind is a type of being, one in billions and billions of other types of beings. Our job is here and now to awaken to our Buddha nature. To argue about who wrote the first letters or the lightest/darkest colored skins, these are distractions.

  • Namaste @satansprick13, Brother fromanother mother, we are Human beings just as you, forget religion, forget color, forget west, east, north, south, forget countries, forget flags and all minor and insignificant differences they are irrelevant to the TRUTH that WE ARE ALL HUMAN. We come from the same tree of life we are all fractals of god in the collective consciousness together in harmony thinking as one WE ARE GOD. We share this reality we Co-create it voluntarily or involuntarily. Sat nam<3

  • 0:47 = "Om mani padme hum *Shhhllirp* manmnmmmm mm nmnm...." ?

  • @satansprick13 Fun is not what I am necessarily seeking, but I do seek joy and happiness. I want our minds to be enlightened with purity and I are most definitely not lazy. This process itself is long and it is not your position to say it is lazy when you do not even know it.

If you are not of the Buddhist religion, then I suppose you do not know what we are seeking, do you? Do not be so judgemental when you yourself does not know anything about this topic.

And I am not from the west.

  • @satansprick13 This is a very bitter post. Clearly, whichever practice you are following is not allowing you freedom from suffering and ego. Sadly, this is what causes you to be so judgmental. I wish you better "luck" in the future.

  • Sounds like they are chanting "omnomnom- om nom nom" XD
