Probably would be a good idea to remind viewers that an amplifier has high voltages present that are deadly. I would not recommend powering up an amplifier with the cover off if you are not experienced in working with high voltage electronics. It could be the last thing you ever do.

they make cap kits for the sb's for pretty cheap, something to consider anyway

Looking at an amp that arcs like this one in the dark is an age old trick. It is most effective and simple. Been doing it for years. Although no too many know this trick. Kudos to you for showing this simple trick on how to find an arc in an amp. Good Job. Lou W1QJ
