Kos or Cos is a Greek island in the south Sporades group of the Dodecanese, next to the Gulf of Gökova/Cos. It measures 40 km by 8 km, and is only 4 km from the coast of Bodrum, Turkey and the ancient region of Caria. The island has both fertile plains and mountainous highlands with a population of about 31,000. It comprises three municipalities: Kos, the administrative center and largest town, Dikaio, and Irakleides.

Kos, ist eine zu den Dodekanes gehörende griechische Insel an der Küste von Karien. Die 40 Kilometer lange und 8 Kilometer breite Insel hat eine Gesamtfläche von etwa 290 km² und ist nur 4 Kilometer von der Küste von Bodrum (Türkei) entfernt. Kos hat fruchtbare Ebenen und karge Anhöhen, die Südhälfte ist durch mittelhohe Gebirge geprägt, deren höchste Erhebung mit etwa 875 m der Dikeos ist.
