http://live.besttechie.net - I received a request from the chat room to do a video on headphones. When it comes to picking headphones you need to look at the comfort factor, the sound quality (bass/treble/crispness), and your potential use for them. I recommend Koss Porta Pro as I've been using them for years now and they are great in every aspect.

  • I'll probably end up getting PX100s anyway (apparently both sets are essentially the same), but just one question: do the headband sliders ever get caught in your hair, like several people have noted?

  • I've never experienced that myself, but I could see how it is possible.

  • where i can buy that head phone?

  • If you go to my blog and check out the post with this video, I provide a link to them there.

  • 'Sonys' is pretty general - I guess you must mean comparably priced Sonys because my mdr-7506 cans are fantastic. In any case you're right regarding reviews, the more the better - single most important source of info short of testing something yourself. Based on reviews (this one included) I'm getting a set of Portapros - seem to be among the best $30 - $40 phones around.

  • I just bought Porta Pros for 30 bucks. They sound awesome for watching movies on my ipod and laptop :) 10/10

    Thanks for the advice!!

  • Would the music leak a lot if i put it on halfway cos I heard these leak a lot.

  • @theoriginalafroninja it's not really limewire that may make music not sound so good. it's the bitrate. you'll most likely encounter lots of mp3 files with a bitrate of 192kbps on limewire. files with a higher bitrate should sound a bit better, not sure by how much exactly. but if you're really worried about sound quality, you could try a lossless format instead, such as flac.

  • deaf from above.... hahah.. awesome.

  • could downloading files from limewire limit how well the music sounds

  • nice atticus shirt :D

  • Are you Jewish or Iranian?

    No offence.

  • They blow them out of the water and destroy them in the air :D

  • @grobber13 because they are. made since 1984

  • I want to get a pair of these for portable use, and a pair of Grado SR60's for use on my computer... I wish I could find a version of the SR60 that fit around the ear instead of on top. I might buy the SR60 and modify them with some enclosure pads from my old Sony MDR-XD200, because I sure as hell am not shelling out another 20 just for enclosement.

  • Yes Koss are great. Also, Sennheiser PX100 in the same price range offer great value. These two are my favourites under 50$. As far as earbuds go, Ultimate Ears triple-Fi are th best one I've heard and use them almost every day. They are however 10 times more expensive. But consider the Koss or the Sennheiser - there are no better headphones on the market and haven't been for a long time. You portable player will sound great with those - way better than any included headphones that came with it.
