  • I always have a special place in my heart with this mobile. I did not get to see my father very much as a little girl. He lived in Alexandria and I lived in Virginia Beach. Sometimes, he would take my brother and I to DC and to the art museums. I can remember standing on the balcony, watching the mobile spin overhead slowly, almost feeling like I could touch it. It is linked to happy memories for me.

  • @ipantro That's not irony.

  • When I think of Calder and particularly on this one, 2 things come up in my mind: harmony and irony; harmony, because of the balance kept between the pieces as well as between space and architect; and irony because of the calmness of artwork, no matter how noisy or quiet is around, it moves very slow and author reminds as universality and masculinity of time.

It definately is one of the most influential works of A.C.

  • cette oeuvre et cet endroit sont magnifiques

  • I've got some early photos of his work.
