This was the first Farm Aid and most people hadn't really heard from these guys yet. I know this because I was there about 15 rows out. There was never another Farm Aid like this first one! The talent on that stage for that 12 hour show was staggering! It was also the first time Eddy Van Halen and Sammy Hagar jammed. I'll never forget Sammy starting off one of his songs by saying "here's one for you tractor pulling motherfuckers". That sure got the country folk stirred up!

c'mon he had a bad day! there's another video from 1984 and he sang the song really good there... You need to know that he didn't take vocal lessons at that time, so maybe he could sing perfectly one day and the day after could sound like this! That's the problem when they were touring 365 days at the year... they're still the best rock band from the last 25 years!
