This is a short film about nine crewmen lost in the desert after there B-24 Liberator had ran out of gas. Sense the early 1970s I have been fascinated with this story. It went silent for a few decades and most of the books about it went out of print. A few years ago it resurfaced agan with some shocking new discoveries and photographs. Although most of the pitchers have now become extremely hard to get and have been packed away in archives. This story still has an unsolved mystery attached to it. In 1989 while reading some information on this story I was listening to some music being played that seem to fit every aspect of this story. So I have added that music into this short video to give you some feeling of how transfixed I am with this story. I would love to get some feedback from anyone interested. Thank you.

Robert Lamotte, who I believe was the radio operator on the Lady Be Good, was from Lake Linden, Michigan about 1 mile from my home in Calumet, Michigan. One of the propellers from the Lady Be Good now sits in front of the town hall/fire station as a monument to his (and his comrades') sacrifice. It has been there for as long as I can remember. It is a very solemn reminder to me every time I see it of those who died too soon in service of their country.

This is no mystery the "lady be good" was moved out of the desert years ago because it became a site for vandels, it is now in a storage yard of sorts and in remarkable shape, I have the GPS coordiantes. Some photos were taken by my friend who was working in Libiya. I have always thought the US gov should have been involved in gettng what remaines to the Air Force musuem but so far no joy trying to get this done.

The discovery made front page news in many papers in summer of 1959 when Lady Be Good was found in the desert. I was very young and I've followed the story for over 40 years. One of the crew who bailed out had a parachute malfunction and was killed instantly. The rest of the crew never found his body (miles away) and never knew what happened to him....
