I remember seeing the show during it's 2008 west end revival at the comedy theatre.

@MrDabblehand one reason from what I heard as to why it isnt being done anymore (a short lived show) is that the shear cost of a single production is astronomical. The producers have a hard time trying to make back budget just to stage it. It is absolutely an awesome show however!

The show starts with him lyin face down in the pool & then it is all a flashback to how it happened.
They did the "pool bit" by havin a huge canvas gauze at an angle across the stage from ceilin to floor with the guy fixed on it, with clever lightin effects it looked to the audience like we were lookin down on him face down in a big pool.

If you want the feeling of this recording theb you should definatly visit the Gothenbourg opera-house to see the show. It runs until april 2011. It's a great show picking up the intention from the original movie in combination with ALW's thoughts. The production has the largest orchestra that has ever been involved in a staging of the show.

Awesome! I love this story, it is so diva-ish, but the story also tells the sometimes
dark side of the talented.

I don't care if it was re-used in another film, the car chase sounds freaking amazing and totally sets the tone of the musical. One of my favourite parts.

It's actually not an overture. It's the instrumental during the car chase.
