It almost looks like the pignosed turtle in the Zoo's Reptile and Amphibian House is flying back and forth in the water.

I love when he comes close and looks right into the camera.

  • Aw, what a cutie!! :-)

  • I think it is cute, too. It always amazes me when I hear visitors call certain animals "ugly", as some do with this one.

No animal (or person, either) should ever be called ugly.

    At least that's my opinion!

  • Well, a lot of people have a hard time seeing anything cute in reptiles ... probably because they're not used to seeing them. Certainly in my country most people have never had close contact with any reptile. But I keep turtles myself (not this species though) so I see plenty of cuteness and personality in them. :-)

  • Your video of one of your turtles climbing a tree shows how cute your turtles truly are!

My son and I also think most snakes have really cute. Whenever we can convince anyone else to look closely, that person usually agrees!

  • Once again, great comments in the background... "his eyes are open!"

  • The visitor comments really do add to the experience, and the memories.

  • Cousins to the North American soft shell turtle. One thing about soft shells, American, Australian, Chinese or otherwise, they all have really nasty tempers and give a vicious bite.

  • Cool.

  • It is a fly river turtle. But it is also called a pig nosed turtle. (It is one of those cases when at least one of the names actually matches the description!)

  • Very nice clip! I like the turtle swimming of course - nice closeup! - but also the light-through-the-water effects...
