Of late, newspaper headlines in Iran have been splashed with worrying forecasts related to a dreaded natural disaster that Iran is prone to. The country sits on 20 major fault lines spread out across its length and breadth. Iran has suffered many a devastating tremor in the past.
Another is imminent; the only question is when it will hit, and how prepared the country is for when it does. The figures are concentrating on the capital Tehran, where they foretell wide scale destruction. It's been estimated that a high magnitude earthquake could cripple 75 percent of the hospitals in the capital, which have fallen into disrepair.
A 7 magnitude quake is likely to destroy at least 1,400, 000 homes in Tehran - one reason being urban decay, and 80,000 village homes in the vicinity of the capital. The number of deaths could exceed 2 million, and the number of injured is likely to surpass 4 million.
According to the experts it could take ten years for the capital to get back on track in the event of such a quake. It's these worrisome headlines that called for a sit down with the experts and officials about Iran's seismic activity.
It's looking like someone is threatening the same to Iran that was done to Japan.
Have they asked for a large sum of cash from the Iranian government yet? That seems to be the sequence of events that led to the fukushima disaster. Give us your money or we'll cause an earthquake. The Japanese told them that they wouldn't, and the rest is history. Check out Benjamim Fulfords take on these events.
