Holmstrom Elbows Wisniewski 5/5/09

Tomas Holmstrom of the Detroit Red Wings elbows James Wisniewski of the Anaheim Ducks in the face, causing a gash to his mouth. Wisniewski left the ice on a stretcher due to being previously injured on the same shift from a puck hitting him in the ribs and the elbow from Holmstrom. Holmstrom did not receive a penalty. Western Conference Stanley Cup Playoffs Round 2, Game 3. May 5, 2009.

@jaipaul68 Hawks vs Flyers and Hawks vs Sharks first game went without a single hawks power play. Then afterward multiple calls were missed actually causing the flyers to win 2 of their scf games. It was just as bad for everyone it wasn't a conspiracy it was just bad reffing. Hawks just knew how to stop the diving sharks teams better then the wings could.

It's certainly an elbow, but it wasn't at all intentional. Holmstrom does that little spin move every single time he loses position in front of the net.

Bitch and moan all you want about the Wings getting away with a call here, but don't even TRY to call them dirty. The Wings are the cleanest-playing team in the NHL, that's a FACT. They have been ever since the late '90s.
