Man, this song is awesome, and should have somewhere near 100,000 view, if not more than that! But, I would guess that not that many people know about it, cuz before I bumped into it searching for another song, I never knew about it either. Dog gone shame, too, cuz this song is so likable! K.D Lang, Take 6, the players in the band serving up the melody for this, it's very easy to get into. Just shaking my head cuz this song isn't more well known...

lang is the only contemporary female vocalist who in my opinion could easily have held her own among the likes of Fitzgerald, Clooney, Vaughan, Cline, Stafford and Page. She's absolutely in their class. An amazing singer. (And kudos to the great Take 6 back-up)

Quite frankly, k.d. lang and Take 6 knock the ball out of the park with this delicious treat for the ears from the Dick Tracy soundtrack. To the best of my knowledge however this single unfortunately never charted anywhere else but on the Canadian Adult Contemporary chart, peaking at #19 in August 1990.

Love this! This is so perfect, everybody plays their part to perfection. And, I am so loving Take 6 holding down the background vocals here. Still, this is a wonderful song:)

I was wondering what the source was for your 'riding the rails' vid with the Dick Tracy clips...I'm looking for a great quality copy of this but the one on KD's video collection dvd eliminates the movie clips. Thanks for any info!

Fantastic music!
I play this video about once a day and wonder why K D Lang and Take 6 haven't made an album together? They really suit each other! I have listened to most of the KD Lang videos here. Several are very good music, but none stands out like this one! Johnny Cash has a rather insignificant recording of Ridin' the Rails, so maybe the KD Lang-Take 6 team should consider jazzing up a number of other old Cash classics together ( eg. "Hey Porter" and "Folsom Prison Blues", or?)
