In the game, After the Pioneers jumped out to a 12-0 lead at intermission, but the Blue Devils responded with 24 unanswered points to defeat their in-state rivals. CCSU running back James Mallory scored a pair of touchdowns and finished with 80 yards on the game, and Blue Devil defensive back Marcus Dorsey recorded the biggest play of the contest with a school-record 100-yard interception return for a touchdown to thwart a late Sacred Heart drive.
