Shipper Sometimes we, as people, use a bunch of different words to say the same thing. Moving companies, like any business, have some jargon that they use to describe some pretty simple stuff. The shipper, or the customer, is the person or persons whose freight is being relocated. Its you. The shipper is responsible for all costs associated with the move, and is the one to initiate all move-related business transactions. In other words, a moving company isnt likely to randomly knock on your door and say, Interested in not living here anymore? We can help you out. And well pay for it. In addition, the shipper should approve any accessorial, or extra, charges suggested by the mover before action is taken. Moving is a lot of responsibility, but were here to help you handle it.
