Nice work.. should remind everybody to keep an eye on their engines regulary.

I needed some 200 hours for the job. But of course I work much slower than a professional and I spent a lot of time producing the specific tools.

How may hours wok was it?

@BigBadTurboM3 That is the difference. I was looking over weeks for new valves but I found no offer fr less than $50 each! And a used head was much higher in price as the $300 you paid, Congratulations!

Did you try getting a used head or even just parts from the United States? They are much less expensive there. No VAT!

@tempest411 I payed for the welding 50 Euros, the rest was my hobby. I do not believe that I get an S2 head including the shipping to Europe for this price. Usually S2 heads are rare, the broken timing chains a a common problem.

Totally amazing work and dedication! The time you put in on this is probably worth more than the cost of a new engine, but it's great that you did this and I envy your skills!

@batlin I am a private and I do such works for pleasure. Nevertheless a workshop would have asked about 7000 Euro including an exchange head. The total work have been about 200 hours. A lot of people in Germany are payed less than 35 Euros an hour.

@2610buck Yes, meanwhile I run it for 15000 km in 15 months. No further problem.
