Triple J Hack reporter Tom Tilley hosted an engaging session with leading US Republican commentator Cliff May. Mr May shared a Republican perspective on American domestic and foreign policy issues, from climate change to the war on terror. He offered insights into the Republicans' strategies for 2010 and 2012 and analysis of Sarah Palin's surprise move.
Cliff May is former Director of Communications for the Republican National Committee and an American expert on national security. He is president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a policy institute focusing on terrorism created immediately following the 9/11 attacks on the United States.
He is also the Chairman of the Policy Committee of the Committee on the Present Danger (CPD), an international, non-partisan organisation based in Washington D.C. comprised of leading members of the national security community. In 2008, The Daily Telegraph (UK) named May one of the "100 most influential conservatives in America."
Mr May has had a long and distinguished career in international relations, journalism, communications and politics.
This event was supported by the Politics Society at the University of Sydney.
