Part 2 of my answere: There was a picture a few years back in an Arabian Horse World magazine with a picture of a pure white stallion at the state stud farm in Egypt...god he was cute! I can't even describe how beautiful (in my eyes at least and those of the director at the farm who said this horse was his favorite). This horse looked NOTHING like most American or even European Arabs.

Well, I guess that I'm a "real" Friesian lover, lol. I like so called, 'old fashioned' Arabs too. Now too many have giraffe necks and legs...way too long for my taste.

Gorgeous who is his sire??

Look @ those "feathers"...you mean to tell me you're having to preservation breed Friesians too?!? I thought you had to have these horses certified by the registry to even be allowed to breed? Geez, why don't people leave them alone and just breed to the standard?????

The current club members of Phryso chose a totally different type (very long legs, almost no feathers). But the so called trend is turning back to our types (barok, heavy, old fashioned). You can imagine that not one club member will chose to swap to a real Friesian, that club member would be a real Friesian lover. But today that's not the case anymore. Our first barok Friesian will be born in March 2008. And I'll be proud of having 3 barok Friesians and not luxury types.
