How old are your Mosrite guitars and how much (approx) were they? Do you know if it has a bolt on or set in/ gued neck, what kind of bridge and/or tuning pegs? Oh, and what kind of pickups?
I wouldn't part with either if were the owner. I see them for sale for $3,000.00 or so but I don't believe they were able to make a whole lot as I heard somewhere they weren't in production for very long, ... now they may have started up again. I always wanted a Mosrite and still do but after spending over $3200.00 on my 370 Rickenbacker 12 string (another very nice guitar) it may be awhile before I get a Mosrite.
Of course you meant "bite" and that is the absolute truth...a cranked up Mosrite could rip your ears off but in a most enjoyable way. There is no sweeter guitar sound than Nokie Edwards on his Mosrites during the early to mid-sixties...the unique Mosrite sound on those Ventures LPs throughout that period is pure magic. While it's hard to beat the sound of a good Strat, the Mosrite is in a class by itself and I would never part with mine.
I heard that Mosrites had more of a bit than Fenders ... and they sounded gutsier and better, but I never played one. I didn't know the Ventures used to use Fenders.
