Actually you couldn't be more wrong. These flies were originally tied for fishing, and to this day there are many who still fish them, mostly for fun and the nostalgia of it all. If constructed properly, a Classic Salmon Fly can be fished quite effectively.

hey flyfisher, thanks for posting! Miss CB alot, moved back to mainland NS this past fall after salmon season ended. Hope to get back soon.
