N&W 611 J-Class 4-8-4 + N&W 1218 A-Class 2-6-6-4 steam locomotives on display at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, Virginia. Both steam locomotives were once part of the Norfolk Southern Steam Excursion Program (1982-1994).

  • i see that the 611 is right where water can drip on it from the two buildings.

  • Part of the overhang still needs some fixing.

  • VMT put silver paint on side rods of both steam engines.

  • @HaloCE14 #3001 would take some major work. She has a hole in her firebox, and many other parts of the loco need rebuilding. From what I hear, #2933 is just in bad shape overall. It's quite a shame.

  • Was 611 at train-fest 2009? The rumor is 611 was in owosso Michigan for train-fest 2009.
