This mower is in sad shape. However, it's only really used to mow rocks at work, so if it runs at all, it's fine. Im going to need to check for spark, it's getting fuel, and might do a compression test as well. I'm assuming it's in bad shape, due to it surging at idle, burning oil, and filling the crankcase with gas. Don't worry about the drill, it's only used to start this, and has a bad gearbox and speed controller.

  • i wonder how long you can crank the engine over with a drill if you dont mind me asking

  • @2008FORDF450V8 Quite a while. With a fresh battery, that drill will crank this engine over for several minutes without complaint. I'd say somewhere around 2-10 minutes depending on the engine and drill. Most engines should start up well before the battery dies.

  • hi have you got this Briggs & Stratton INTEK EDGE OHV air-cooled engine fixed yet?

  • @2008FORDF450V8 Partially... It turns out the spark plug was severely wet fouled with oil. Probably not the best things that can happen, since it stalled when it was running last year, then it was dumped in the back. It was somehow severely diluting the oil with fuel, and I would imagine burning quite a bit of oil. The is sometimes a bit of noticeable smoke out the exhaust, but it runs for the time being. Its not really used much, worst case is we get a cheap new mower to abuse.
