As a kid, did anyone else just watch and see how long the maze would go on before you see the rat at 1:35?

I remember sitting in front of the computer staring at this until my Dad shut off the computer in fear I would go blind; I'd just sit there and wait for the end to come. Was there ever an actual exit to the maze; and no, I don't mean moving the mouse to go back to the desktop.
