  • 4 things: 1. First, this womans voice nearly MELTS me. 2. Is she still around, active, etc.? 3. What's up with the mplsltd site...very slooow moving. 4. Bobbi's got another LP. (Encino) from the same era...I'd guess '69 or so, that's actually more worthy of the "lounge-psyche" tag placed on this one...they're both great though-

  • Hi - this is Christian from mpls ltd. Thanks for posting! Bobbi is in her late 70s - she's not active musically anymore, but she is in good sprits. Do you own her other LP? She told me about it, but I have never seen a copy listed anywhere. I am not sure why the mpls ltd site is slow - I never have problems with it, but I have heard that from other people too so I am looking into it.

  • The only version I've heard of this great song to date is by shirley Bassey. She just can't do this kind of song and frankly sounds out of her depth. Now this is more like it so beautifully sung. Off to Amazon to get the CD!

  • She has an awesome voice, she should have been a huge singer.

  • I think this is the same Bobbi Boyle who was "artist later- and better-known as" Bobbi Blake, The Grand Lady of Song-Poems! Am I right?

It's neat to hear her doing a non song-poem record!

  • I have to order this cd right now!!!

    Thank you for uploading this...

  • Hi Christian, glad to know she's doing well. Yes, I have a copy of 'Bobbi Boyle Sings'; Jimmy Stewart (Gabor Szabo's co-guitarist) is the guitarist w/some nice fuzz flouishes, etc., Chris Clark plays bass, Bobbi's on acoustic piano & vibes, and there are some strings accompaniments to round things out. Not all of it works, but enough of it does as she throws down on quite a few hits of the day and a killer bossa original. What a voice!

  • Thank you for this. What a voice, and what a class act!! I knew Bobbi Boyle when she directed a youth choir I was involved in, late '70s - early 80s. She was a huge influence on my life, both musically and personally. Truly one of the greats!

  • Sweet. Excellent video Bil! Great release Mr. Fritz.
