    It is by far my favorite lens in my bag. I pretty much use it 80% of the time during weddings only switching out between my 50mm 10%, 15mm fish eye 2% and 70-200 2.8 8% of the time. Worth every penny. My only gripe is that I wouldn't mind something a little more narrow ~30mm, but that's really pixel peeping. :)

    @Inzane13371 - I personally prefer primes as you'll get much better bokeh and sharpness. the 24-70 is a really sharp lens, but it weights so much that I wouldn't want to carry it around with me longer than 30 minutes.

    @Maximillan - The 50mm 1.8 is $200, not the 85mm.

    Thanks a lot, I've been stuck choosing between this lens or the 24 1.4 and I think you may have made up my mind and saved me some cash!

    Great! This lens is way better than the 24 1.4 for faster focusing and I prefer it much better than the 24 for the weight alone.

    At 7:09 when you put the lens front element side down, I got a bit nervous. It would have been such a pity to scratch your new Nikkor on the first day. Slap a UV filter on that bad boy before you make any new videos.

    Any I have this lens, and think it's great. It's light weight makes the D800 a joy to shoot with.

    This might be a wierd question, but would you recommend a 50mm f1,4 and 28mm 1,8 or 24 - 70mm f2,8?
