The Cynthia Corbett Gallery is pleased to present the work, Hypochondriac, by American artist Klari Reis. Hypochondriac comprises a series of 150 Petri dishes hand-painted using reflective epoxy polymer to depict electron microscope images of viruses, viscera and pharmaceuticals reacting with the human body. Supported by steal rods, the paintings sit at varying degrees of distance from the wall evoking depth and motion. Klari Reis, working with pharmaceutical agencies in San Francisco uses medical cellular imagery to explore the contemporary complex relationship with todays pharmaceuticals.

The Cynthia Corbett Gallery was established in 2000 by former Christie's Education Art History graduate Cynthia Corbett and is operated from her Victorian home, a former convent, with high ceilings and massive rooms.

This environment is an ideal place to showcase her growing stable of international contemporary artists which can be seen at www.thecynthiacorbettgallery.com. By showing art in a domestic setting, burgeoning clients and collectors can envision the works in their own homes and offices.

The Cynthia Corbett Gallery is a regular exhibitor at major contemporary art fairs and also curates solo and themed exhibitions at various venues.

The Cynthia Corbett Gallery promotes both established and emerging artists of the highest quality with an emphasis on personalised service for clients and is happy to provide advice on collecting and will arrange in situ viewings and installation.
